Returning Students PreK-8 Registration Process

All returning PreK-8 Parents/Guardians will be required to register their child for the 2024 - 2025 school year online through PowerSchool. These forms need to be reviewed and submitted in PowerSchool. If changes need to be made, contact your school office to correct the information.  Invoices for registration fees will be emailed. You may access the online registration portal from home, but if you do not have internet access, you can utilize a computer at your local library. You may use your child's device, or you may make an appointment to use a school computer.

Step-by-step Directions English

  • Grades K-5 pay $40, and Grades 6-8 pay $50. Invoices will be sent to families via MySchoolBucks in November. If you do not complete registration by Wednesday, June 5, 2024, you must wait until schools reopen in August to register your child.

Required Forms for Families to Prove Residency

As initial proof of residency, the person with whom the student lives in the District and who claims custody of the student must attach at least 1 document from Category A and at least 2 documents from Category B, all of which must be acceptable to the District. If the person enrolling the student claims the student is (a) homeless, or (b) attending school in the studentā€™s former district upon the determination of the Department of Children and Family Services, only the appropriate line in Category C must be checked.

Category A (Attach at least 1 of the following documents)
_____ The most recent real estate tax bill for my residence shows me as the taxpayer
_____ Signed lease for my residence
_____ Mortgage statement (current up-to-date)

_____ A notarized letter from the owner of my residence stating that I reside at that residence and the duration of my residence. (If checked, you will need at least 3 items from Category B.)

Category B (Attach at least 2 of the following documents) *All items must list the current address and have a recent date.
_______Driverā€™s license/or State ID/foreign consulate ID card
_______Gas bill

_______Electric bill
_______Water bill
_______Public Aid card
_______Voter registration card or application for voter registration card

_______Home/apartment insurance certificate
_______Automobile registration ā€“ State of Illinois
_______Telephone or Cell Phone bill or letter from telephone/cell phone company

_______Pay Stub (with address)

Category C - None of the documents in Categories A or B above are applicable because:
______ 1. The student is homeless and eligible for enrollment under the Illinois Education for Homeless Children Act.
______ 2. The student is enrolling based on the determination of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). (You must attach evidence of DCFS determination.)

Custody:
If you are not the natural or adoptive parent with legal custody of the student, you must register in person and provide a copy of the court order, marriage certificate, transfer of guardianship, evidence of receipt of public aid for the student, or DCFS documents as appropriate.

Health Forms: All requirement exams and forms are due on or before the first day of school. If proper documentation is not turned in by October 15th of the current year, your child is subject to exclusion from school.

Important Information for Returning PreK-8 Students

  • K - 5th Grade: A postcard/letter will be mailed to you in August, notifying you of your childā€™s new teacher.  This information will also be posted at school on the same date.

  • 2nd & 6th Grade: Dental forms are due prior to the start of the school year. Parents are encouraged to schedule the dental exam ASAP.

  • K & 6th Grade: Physical forms are due prior to the start of the school year. Parents are encouraged to schedule the physical ASAP.

  • Grade 6-8:  If the registration is properly completed, the student schedule/class assignment will be mailed prior to the first day of school.
