Dear Mannheim Community,

We are writing to inform you of a situation that occurred at Mannheim Middle School this morning, Monday, September 16th.

We want to assure you that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

This morning, we received a report from the Cook County Sheriff’s office about a phone call expressing concern regarding a TikTok video from the weekend. In response, we immediately implemented our District's threat assessment protocols and enacted a "Hold" to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.

After a thorough investigation in partnership with local law enforcement, they have determined that there is NO credible threat to our school community.

We understand that recent events may have heightened your concerns. We want to emphasize that your child is SAFE. The "Hold" was a precautionary measure, and we are grateful for the swift response from our school administration and law enforcement. We are grateful for your support and partnership to keep everyone safe. The parents of the students directly involved have been contacted and are working with MMS Administration.

We will have counseling & support services for students.

Le escribimos para informarle de una situación que ocurrió en la Escuela Secundaria Mannheim esta mañana, lunes 16 de septiembre.

Después de una investigación exhaustiva en colaboración con la policía local, han determinado que NO existe ninguna amenaza creíble para nuestra comunidad escolar.

Entendemos que los eventos recientes pueden haber aumentado sus inquietudes. Queremos enfatizar que su hijo/a está SEGURO. La "suspensión" fue una medida de precaución y estamos agradecidos por la rápida respuesta de la administración de nuestra escuela y las fuerzas del orden. Estamos agradecidos por su apoyo y colaboración para mantener a todos a salvo. Se ha contactado a los padres de los estudiantes directamente involucrados y están trabajando con la administración de MMS.
